How Can We Help?

The Door43 project uses several different online resources, or servers, to pull everything together. This one, the Help Desk, is run on a third party server for us. They don’t share login information with us, so you need a separate account on the Help Desk in order to communicate with the Help Desk personnel. A new account is created for you, automatically, when you send an email to [email protected] for the first time.

Github is another third party server, used for the development of the programs (like translationStudio). If you want to suggest changes to the ULB, or if you need to report a bug in one of the translation apps, you can do that on Github.

When you go to Github, you’ll see a login banner like this:

You can click on either the Sign in or Sign up buttons, but it’s probably simpler if you click on Sign up.
That will take you to the initial page. Your username can be anything you like — it might be best to pick something you don’t use elsewhere, to prevent confusion. Your email address will be the same as you normally use, unless you have multiple email addresses, and want to use a different one.
On the next screen, make sure you’ve selected the free account type. After you click Continue it will take you to the third step, where you can click Skip this step at the bottom. You should now be able to suggest corrections on the ULB, or submit bug reports for the translation programs.
