There are four options to choose from when exporting from translationStudio.

Upload to Door43

This requires an Internet connection.

PLEASE NOTE that by uploading the project to your Door43 account, the content is available to be downloaded by other translators, merged with other projects, or used as an online backup.

Follow this process:

  1. When you are in a project, tap/click on the 3-dot menu.
  2. Choose the bar with the text: “Upload to Door43.”
  3. Wait while the upload process takes place.
  4. If you are connected to the Internet and signed into a Door43 Account – there will be a “Upload Complete” message.
    1. Note that there will be a link to the online location of the files.
    2. Click on the link to open the website. OR Click on ‘Close’ to close the window.
  5. If you are NOT connected to the Internet – there will be a “Upload Failed” message.
    1. Click on ‘Close’ to close the window.
    2. When you can be connected to the Internet, start the Upload process again.

Export to USFM File

This will create a .usfm file of your project. United Standard Format Marker (USFM) is the international standard of Biblical text.

Follow this process to export, or save, the project to a .usfm file:

  1. Click on the bar with the text: “Export to USFM File.” The computer’s File Explorer window opens to the translationStudio folder.
  2. Using the file manager, navigate to the desired location on the computer to save the file.
  3. Rename the file if desired.
  4. Click the ‘Save’ button. A window will show with a ‘Project Exported’ message.
  5. Click ‘Close’ to close the window.

Export to PDF File

This will create a .pdf file of your project. Portable Document Format (PDF) is an international standard for sharing documents.

Follow this process to export, or save, the project to a .pdf file:

  1. Click on the bar with the text: “Export to PDF File.”
  2. Choose the options from the menu. You may choose any amount of the options.
    1. Include incomplete chunks – these are chunks in the translation that have not been marked ‘done.’
    2. Double space text – this will add an extra empty line between each line of text.
    3. Fully justify text – this will create a document where the text is all the way to the beginning and the end of each line of text.
    4. New page for each chapter – this will create a document where the start of a chapter is on a new page.
  3. Click on ‘Create Preview.’ Wait for the document to be created.
  4. Scroll through the preview to see what the document looks like.
  5. If there should be changes …
    1. To the content – return to the Project.
      1. Click on the word ‘Project’ at the left edge of the top green bar.
      2. Make changes to the content.
    2. To the formatting of the document – return to the Project.
      1. Click on the word ‘Project’ at the left edge of the top green bar.
      2. Go to the 3-dot menu.
      3. Choose Upload/Export on the menu.
      4. Repeat steps 1 -5 above.
  6. To save the document:
    1. Click on the ‘Save to PDF’ button on the top bar.
    2. The computer’s File Explorer window opens.
    3. Using the file manager, navigate to the desired location on the computer to save the file.
    4. Click the ‘Save’ button.
  7. A window will show with a ‘PDF Created’ message.
  8. Click ‘Close’ to close the window.

Export Project File

This will create a .tstudio file of your project that can be used in any other translationStudio version 11, Desktop or Android, program.

Follow this process to export, or save, the project to a .tstudio file:

  1. Click on the bar with the text: “Export Project File.” The computer’s File Explorer window opens to the backup folder for translationStudio.
  2. Using the file manager, navigate to the desired location on the computer to save the file.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button. A window will show with a ‘Project File Complete’ message.
  4. Click ‘Close’ to close the window.
